Ultrasound - 17 Weeks, 4 Days

We had our ultrasound appointment on Monday, and it was incredible. You can see pictures from the ultrasound above. Clockwise from the top left you are seeing the baby facing you, the bottom of the baby's feet, the baby facing up, and the baby facing down. The doc said that the ultrasound looked normal and the measurements looked good. She said that the baby probably weighs around 7 ounces right now!

The baby was moving A LOT! All of this activity going on and I can't feel any of it...yet. I should start feeling the baby's movements anytime between now and the next 3 or 4 weeks. Eric has started calling the baby Samurai. After the ultrasound, we both think it fits! The baby was kicking so hard that it made its whole body move. We are now the proud owners of a sealed envelope with pictures from the ultrasound revealing the sex of the baby. So far we have not opened the envelope and do not know if we are having a boy or a girl. We will let you know if we open the envelope!!!

We had another doctor's appointment last week, and we got to hear the heart beat! It was fast, so the doctor said that people would try to tell us that it will be a girl. Then she said that the speed of the heartbeat doesn't guarantee the baby's sex. For now, we are going to keep that a surprise. Our next appointment is on Saint Patrick's Day, and we will have another ultrasound. Will probably have an update then! Also, thanks to Auntie Joy for pointing out that I haven't said my due date! It's August 22nd. About 5 months to go....
